Beauty addicts were caught by surprise last February 1, 2016 when online shopping website Luxola.com officially changed to Sephora.ph. I had an account with Luxola, but I hadn’t placed any order yet–the shipping fee was a bit too steep. This time though, I wasn’t able to resist the free shipping (for orders above PHP 1,300.00) and the oh-so-lovely items made available to me for the first time. So yeah, I caved in and placed an order on that very first day the site went live! I was exhilarated when the package arrived at my doorstep a short three days later–quite a feat considering all items are shipped from Singapore.
I was so happy with my Sephora.ph experience that I placed another order the week after, during their Chinese New Year free shipping (for any order) promo. I was so happy because aside from the promo, I was able to use my discount for signing up for their Beauty Pass, their rewards system. PLUS I get to choose a free sample. 🙂
Here is my full review oh sephora.ph, following our unique TBG Review Criteria:
Selection: They definitely brought in a lot of different brands, some already available here in the Philippines, and a lot of new ones. I was excited to see Becca and Burberry as two of their promoted high-end brands. Some other brands I liked (but can be found here in Manila) are Benefit and Sleek MakeUP. I did notice that their prices are slightly lower than local SRP. But I was really excited about their own brand, Sephora Collection–I had heard a lot of great things about their line, and the price range is reasonable. Another brand I liked was Nudestix. Sephora.ph offers skin care, make up, hair, tools, bath & body products. They even have a special tab for Men and Gift & Travel. All in all I think they have a great selection, but a lot of them are already out of stock!
Product Information: I feel that this is an area they can improve on. Yes, there are “DESCRIPTION,” “INGREDIENTS,” and “HOW TO” tabs for each product, but not all of these are filled out. The “INGREDIENTS” tab for the product below, for example, is empty. And that’s from their own collection!
Also, some items could use more photos. I was looking for a cosmetics bag, and all of the bags did not show the inside. I mean, that’s the most important part, the compartments!
Support: Now this is an area where Sephora.ph shines. I got prompt responses from their support team whenever I sent an e-mail. Plus, each query gets its own ticket, and is regularly updated until the concern is addressed.
Prices: I’ve mentioned that some products are cheaper at Sephora.ph compared to local SRP’s. Now, a lot of their products are pricier than your typical drugstore buys, but a lot of their brands ARE high-end. I think their shipping fee is also reasonable, PHP 330 for orders under PHP 1,300. It’s pricier than local sites but do consider that the products are shipped tax-free from Singapore, directly to your Philippines shipping address. I’m excited to shop when they have a sale! I hope they offer good discounts for products I like.
I think Sephora.ph has a great selection of payment options. You don’t have to have your own credit or debit card to shop here. Dragonpay enables users to pay through their choice of banks. The only catch though, is that you have to pay for your purchase within the time window set for you.
Delivery: Sephora.ph uses Aramex as their courier. Purchases below PHP 1,300 warrant a shipping fee of PHP 330, otherwise you get free shipping. The online tracking is very detailed and really impressed me:
TBG-Approved: I totally recommend shopping via Sephora.ph. They provide a very secure shopping experience, give access to new beauty products, have reasonable prices, and offer free shipping. An added bonus is their rewards system, gifting loyal users with points they can use, plus other perks and free gifts with every purchase.
FINAL TALLY: 6.5 out of 7 stars
Sephora.ph passes with flying colors! I’ll do individual reviews on the products I got as well. Which ones do you want me to do first? 🙂
